A holistic approach to development that challenges the coach to learn how players learn best. While working with players to evolve and understand how their skill set fits within a system, a sustainable process can be implemented for the success of the player and team. The application of this process is built on strong values which encourage continuous improvement in season and out of season.

As a coach, challenging myself to understand who I’m partnering with while allowing players to understand my approach is an important first step. Once that connection is established, being innovative with skill specific drills creates an environment of improvement and enjoyment that can sustain during a long season. Through physical demonstration, competition, and verbally speaking the way the player needs to hear, the knowledge and understanding of the game can be transferred in an efficient way that shows consistent results in real time.

A strong connection amongst players and staff is the foundation to helping players achieve their potential. It also builds the relationship where everyone's goals align and keeps the main objective of high level winning in the forefront

Sspecific

Understanding the principles of the system and how each skill set translates to efficient play is key. Be specific in your approach to establishing and building from the foundation. This allows layered skill sets to be simplified and puts the player in position for consistent development

MMaturity (Emotional)

The one element that is constant in basketball and life is change. When you acquire elite skills and are in an ever changing environment, developing the emotional part of yourself is of the utmost importance. Becoming aware of how emotions affect your on court development and performance allows the space to develop a process that encourages a consistent daily approach

Aachievable

Creating defined incremental goals that can be achieved is vital to developing consistency. This creates a baseline of accountability and allows the opportunity to build on small successes which motivates the player to want more for themselves. Celebrating wins and being pushed past your limit is a healthy balance for continued growth

An innovative approach to on-court development keeps the learning process stimulating, challenging and fun while never drifting away from the core concepts

A system of tracking progress is important for the coach and player to make any necessary adjustments. Understanding how players learn and operate through challenges allows the coach to have tools that can assist them during stagnation periods
